Dermal Filler
Dermal Filler
Dermal fillers are injections into the skin to add volume, contour, and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. They are typically made of hyaluronic acid, a natural component found in the skin that helps maintain hydration and elasticity, or other synthetic materials.
Treated areas include the lips, cheeks, chin, and under the eyes. They can also be used to improve the appearance of scars or to restore volume lost due to aging.
The procedure is performed in the office and involves injecting the filler directly into the targeted area using a fine needle or cannula. It's generally quick and relatively painless, and patients can usually return to their normal activities immediately afterward.
The effects of dermal fillers are typically temporary and can last anywhere from several months to up to two years, depending on the type of filler used and the location of the injection.
